Terms of Service
Last updated: October 10, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Trades Trigger website and platform (the "Platform"), operated by Trades Trigger ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Nature of the Platform — Dispatch Service Only
Trades Trigger is a dispatch and referral service — a technology platform that connects clients seeking trade services (electrical, plumbing, and HVAC) with independent, third-party contractors ("Technicians" or "Service Providers"). We are not an employer, employer of record, joint employer, staffing agency, or general contractor. We do not perform the trade work ourselves, we do not employ the Technicians who use the Platform, and we do not supervise, direct, or control the work performed on any job site. The Platform facilitates the connection, dispatch, scheduling, and live tracking only.
Technicians are independent contractors. They are solely responsible for the manner and means by which they perform services, for their own tools, vehicles, insurance, licensing, and tax obligations, and for compliance with all applicable laws and trade regulations.
You acknowledge and agree that Trades Trigger is not a party to the service agreement between you and your Technician. Any contract for the performance of work is formed directly between you and the Technician. Trades Trigger's role is limited to introducing you to a Technician and providing dispatch, scheduling, and tracking tools.
2.1 Vetting of Technicians
Trades Trigger vets Technicians before they are permitted to accept jobs: we review registration information, verify trade licences, certificates of qualification, insurance certificates, and WCB clearance, and we review client ratings and feedback on an ongoing basis. Technicians who fail to maintain these standards, receive repeated poor reviews, or breach our contractor requirements are suspended or permanently removed from the Platform.
However, vetting does not make Trades Trigger a guarantor of any Technician's work. Trades Trigger does not warrant that any Technician is licensed, insured, or qualified at the time of any particular job, and it is the Technician's responsibility to keep all licences, insurance, and credentials valid and current. We strongly encourage clients to confirm their Technician's licence and insurance status before work begins. Trades Trigger is not liable for a Technician's expired, lapsed, or invalid credentials.
3. No Agency or Employment Relationship
Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between Trades Trigger and any Technician. Each Technician contracts directly with the client for the performance of services. Trades Trigger facilitates the connection, dispatch, scheduling, live tracking, and platform infrastructure only.
4. Services & Booking
Clients may request scheduled or emergency dispatch services through the Platform. The standard service rate is $90.00 per hour, with a 1.5-hour minimum service call. Final pricing for any given job is agreed between the client and the Technician; the Platform displays the standard rate for transparency but does not set or guarantee final job pricing beyond the disclosed minimum.
Estimated arrival times and ETAs shown on the live tracking map are estimates based on real GPS and routing data and are not guaranteed. Traffic, weather, and job complexity may affect actual arrival and completion times.
5. Client Obligations
- Provide accurate job details, address, and contact information.
- Grant safe and reasonable access to the work site.
- Pay the Technician directly for services rendered per the agreed rate.
- Be available or reachable during the scheduled service window.
- Take reasonable steps to verify that your Technician holds a valid trade licence and current insurance before authorizing work. Trades Trigger vets Technicians but does not guarantee the ongoing validity of any credential.
6. Cancellations & No-Shows
If a client cancels a job after a Technician has been dispatched and is en route, the Technician may charge the client for the minimum service call at the Technician's discretion and in accordance with applicable law. Trades Trigger does not issue refunds for services rendered directly between a client and a Technician.
If a Technician fails to arrive for an accepted job without notice, the client may report the no-show through the Platform. Repeated no-shows may result in the Technician's removal from the Platform.
7. Disclaimers & No Responsibility for Work Performed
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Trades Trigger makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the quality, safety, legality, or timeliness of services performed by Technicians. We do not guarantee that a Technician will be available, that any job will be completed to a specific standard, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Trades Trigger is a dispatch service only and is not responsible for any work performed on a job site. All trade work is performed solely by the Technician, who is an independent third party. Trades Trigger is not responsible for and assumes no liability for any act or omission of a Technician, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, defective, incomplete, or non-code-compliant work, delays, abandoned work, or any other outcome arising from the services. Any issue with the work performed — including warranty, quality, or payment disputes — must be resolved directly between you and your Technician.
8. Client Acknowledgment — No Liability for Technician Acts
By booking a service through the Platform, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:
- Trades Trigger is a dispatch service only and is not a party to the service agreement formed between you and your Technician.
- Trades Trigger is not liable for any act or omission of any Technician — including, without limitation, property damage, personal injury, defective, incomplete, or non-code-compliant work, delays, abandoned work, or any other outcome arising from services performed on your job site.
- Any and all claims, disputes, or issues relating to the quality, safety, timeliness, or outcome of the work must be pursued directly against the Technician and the Technician's company — and not against Trades Trigger.
- You waive any right to bring a claim against Trades Trigger for the acts, omissions, work product, or conduct of any Technician, and you agree that Trades Trigger's sole obligation in the event of a substantiated complaint is to suspend or remove the Technician from the Platform.
- You agree to indemnify and hold Trades Trigger harmless from any claim brought by you or on your behalf that seeks to impose liability on Trades Trigger for the acts or omissions of a Technician.
This acknowledgment is a material part of these Terms and is intended to be construed as broadly as permitted by applicable law. If any portion is found unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Trades Trigger, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or any services performed by a Technician. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Platform shall not exceed the dispatch fees paid by the Technician to Trades Trigger for the job giving rise to the claim, or $30.00 CAD, whichever is less.
Because Technicians are independent third parties and Trades Trigger is a dispatch service only, Trades Trigger is not liable for any act or omission of any Technician, including property damage, personal injury, incomplete or defective work, or anything else that occurs on a job site. Trades Trigger does not perform, direct, or supervise the work and has no control over how a Technician performs services. Clients and Technicians acknowledge that any dispute regarding the quality, safety, or outcome of services is between the client and the Technician directly, and that Trades Trigger's sole remedy obligation is to remove a Technician from the Platform following substantiated complaints.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Trades Trigger from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, your receipt of services through the Platform, or any dispute with a Technician regarding work performed. Because Trades Trigger is a dispatch service and not a party to the service agreement between you and your Technician, you agree not to bring any claim against Trades Trigger for the acts or omissions of a Technician.
11. Reviews & Ratings
Clients may rate and review Technicians following job completion. Reviews must be accurate and based on genuine experience. Trades Trigger reserves the right to remove reviews that are fraudulent, abusive, or otherwise violate these Terms.
12. Accounts & Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we believe violate these Terms or applicable law.
13. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be effective upon posting the revised Terms on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved in the courts of Manitoba, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
